GEORGETOWN, OH (December 2, 2009) - The Brown County Communication Center recently entered into contract with Alert Tracking Systems (AlertTS), a leading provider of multi-agency Public Safety solutions, to provide a new Computer Aided Dispatch system. AlertTS software is designed to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency. The use of common Master Tables allows an agency to spend fewer resources on data entry and provides more concise records, ultimately leading to a safer environment for the county’s First Responders and its citizens.
"Brown County is looking forward to taking advantage of AlertTS’ state of the art RESPONDER™ CAD system. We predict this system deployment will better help us protect and serve those Police, Fire, and EMS departments who rely on us for up to date and accurate information," said Rob Wilson, Director for the Brown County Communication Center. "Furthermore, we are eager to streamline our work flow by interfacing Ohio LEADS and MPD ProQA into our new system."
The AlertTS software provides the dispatchers with the ability to run information through several systems at one time, all from a single point of entry. With the old system, dispatchers had to enter information in one system, and then enter the same information into a second system to check the state data bases for criminal history and prior incidents. The new system from AlertTS will interface with the state system and automatically run those queries for the dispatchers.
AlertTS will also provide Brown County with an interface to ProQA, which helps dispatchers identify the correct steps to take during an emergency call. AlertTS is the only company nationwide to provide this interface to Public Safety organizations as part of the standard package, and at no additional cost.
During an emergency call, every second matters. Streamlining the call taking process, even if it means saving just a few seconds, can mean the difference between life or death. So while one goal of the new system is to cut down on work for the dispatchers, it serves another goal of saving time. This, in turn, is in hopes of helping the county’s ultimate goal: saving lives.
